Weshalb ich vielseitigem Verlangen nach einer zweiten Au?age mei ner biblischen Psychologie so lange widerstanden habe, wird man inner halb des Buches selbst ausgesprochen finden. Ich wollte erst zuwarten, ob sich mir die Grundanschauung von neuem bewährte. Nachdem dies aber geschehen, glaubte ich jenem Verlangen desto unbedenklicher nach gehen zu durfen, je zahlreicher die von jener Grundanschauung unabhän gigen sprachlichen und historischen Studien sind, welche ich in diesem Buche niedergelegt und nun bei strengerer historischer Fassung meiner Aufgabe um viele neue vermehrt habe.
