The Company at once sought the opinion of Dr. Zouch and were advised by him (p. 85) that it was doubtful whether Buckingham could claim tenths unless he had issued letters of marque, which he had not done in this case. The Company after some delay thought it best to approach the Lord Admiral by petition showing him what their case was, instead of contending against him. Before.
