Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Memoir of the Rev. Thomas Madge: Late Minister of Essex Street Chapel, London
A portion of the Memoir first appeared in the pages of the Inquirer. This has been incorporated, for the most part, with the pre sent work. The volume is much larger than was intended. But I have carefully selected from the materials placed in my hands such only as seemed best adapted to my purpose. The book has been prepared amid frequent in terruptions, and many public and private calls upon my attention that could not be prop erly neglected. But it has been a labour of love.
