Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Nature-Poems: And Others
I pondered on its magic ?ight, When, falling on the lawn, my sight With one more tiny thing Arrested was. There at my feet I saw a daisy, clean and neat, From out the green grass spring.
I thought I heard it silent cry, You've complimented much the ?y Am I not worth a thought? I cannot buzz, and ?y, and spring, I know, like yonder little thing, But that is not my fault!
Saluted thus, I plucked the ?ower, And could have gazed for full an hour Upon its lovely form Within whose pure white radiance grew Such golden constellation true, Of ?owers well-formed, though small.
