IT is my purpose to consider in succession the characteristics of the Christian life which St. Peter sets before us in the beginning of his Second Epistle (2 Peter i. 5 Before doing this however, I wish to notice the view which he gives of the general position of those whom he addresses. That position in all its fulness of blessing, in all its weight of responsibility, is our own. The privileges are ours, the duties are ours. As we realise both more truly we shall come to feel better what we can do, and what we are bound to attempt.
