Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Millennial Harbinger and Voluntary Church Advocate, Vol. 2
We are induced, brethren, to make this appeal to your experience, at the outset of our illustration of the words immediately before us, because it has been alleged, that the passage itself does not refer to Paul's christian experience but, to what may be termed the unmixed legality of a person unenlightened by the Gospel. Hence it is affirmed that the Apostle speaks of himself, ver. When he was in the ?esh; and it is asked, how could the Apostle say, as a Christian, what he does in the 14th verse, For we know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin.
