Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from The Groundwork of Science a Study of Epistemology

Our great object, there fore, in this little volume, is to represent nothing as certain which does not appear to us to be really evident, and yet not to shrink from upholding as true whatever, in our judg ment, possesses the highest conceivable evidence.
