Professor Fiske's remarkable work on Chess in Iceland was in the press at the time of his death in 1904, and appeared soon after. A few years later his literary executor published a work entitled Chess Tales and Chess Miscellanies, Longmans, Green and Co., New York and London, 1912, a col lection of reprints of tales and sketches composed by Mr. F iske almost entirely in 1857-60, while man aging the Chess Monthly.
