Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Private Correspondence of Horace Walpole, Earl of Orford, Vol. 3 of 4: Now First Collected
Iwill tell you something, - the King loves medals; if you ever meet with any thing very curious in that way, I should think you would make your court agreeably by sending it to him. I imagine his taste goes to antiques too, perhaps to pictures, but that I have not heard. If you learn that any purchases may be made in either kind, and that are beyond your own purse, you may acquaint him through the Secretary of State. I should like to have you make yourself necessary to him in his pleasures, as they are so reputable.
