Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Catalogue and Hand-Book of the Archæological Collections in the Indian Museum, Vol. 2
IN the preface to the first part of this Catalogue it was stated that the finds' from the cromlechs (tumuli) of Southern India were exhibited in the Gupta gallery. With reference to this, it has now to be explained that this arrangement has not been adhered to, as the space available in this gallery was not sufficient for the purpose. The objects in ques tion have, therefore, now been placed in the Inscrip tion gallery, the room which likewise contains nearly all the more important inscriptions belonging to the Museum.
