As Josh celebrates his 29th birthday, his closest friend gives him a ring with a simple inscription: Chasing 30. It's supposed to be a message to tell Josh to chase something more than his talented career, to stop running from his past, and to embrace the world he has hidden on the edge of for so long. It's a plea that asks Josh to accept his sexuality and to recognise their friendship for what it could be. But Josh refuses to admit any feelings, as he slowly pushes everyone away in favour of quietly struggling with the ideas of being a good gay, an honest son, and a real friend. He soon finds his world shattered by bizarre encounters and interfering people, as he wakes up to see his friends have silently fought against life's complications, addictions and unspoken love. When he finally makes a stand against his grinding existence, he enters into a race against time to help his friends, and to find the courage to admit an unspoken true love for the best friend he never wanted to lose.
