Therefore, there is no single culture of South Africa. The South African black majority still has a substantial number of rural inhabitants who lead largely impoverished lives. It is among these people, however, that cultural traditions survive most strongly. South Africa has a rich legacy of art, architecture, literature, and cuisine which reflects its vast ethnic and cultural diversity, and its historical colonial period. The book studies the various aspects of South Africa's socio-cultural set up including its cuisine, literature, multiracial social mix, gender roles, and LGTB rights. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge.
