Publisher's Synopsis
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Black Ivy League is a colloquial term that referred to the historically black colleges in the United States that attracted top African American students prior to the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. Today, while these schools do not use this terminology to describe themselves, it does group a set of schools into the elite of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities based on quality of education and high rankings. This book profiles the schools, including Howard, Spelman, Morehouse, Tuskegee, and others. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge.
