Publisher's Synopsis
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. While several definitions exist for the term genocide, the United Nations defines the action as the intent to destroy a people through killing or causing serious harm of the members of the group or creating inhumane conditions of life with the intent of destruction and extermination of a people. This book explores the definitions, the concept of crimes against humanity, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the International Criminal Court, and the famous international prosecutions of genocide from the Nuremberg Trials to the War in Darfur. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge.
