Dominant for over 160 million years during the Triassic Period through the Cretaceous Period, Dinosaurs were a diverse and varied grouping of animals, including over 9,000 bird species. Dinosaur fossils have been found on every continent and paleontologists and paleobiologists continue to gather information on the different species. Some were herbivores, others carnivorous, some bipedal, others quadrupedal and other had wings to fly. This book explores in general terms the history of dinosaurs and the theories concerning their extinction. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge.
