Publisher's Synopsis
Wonders of the Invisible World is a historical account of the infamous witch trials that took place in New England during the 17th century. Written by Cotton Mather, a prominent Puritan minister and scholar, the book documents the trials and executions of several accused witches in Salem and other parts of Massachusetts. Mather argues that witchcraft is a real and dangerous threat to society, and he provides detailed descriptions of the accused witches' alleged crimes and confessions. The book also includes Mather's own commentary on the trials, as well as excerpts from the court records and other primary sources. Wonders of the Invisible World is a fascinating and disturbing look at one of the darkest chapters in American history, and it remains a significant work of early American literature.1693.
