Publisher's Synopsis
Two stories about Asian Indian engineers in America. The first, MANHATTANVILLE is what would be considered a "Desi story" about a young Indian American man working for an agency of the New York City government in the early 1990s in the capacity of a construction inspector (civil engineer).The second story Y2K is set in a state agency in Los Angeles about a group of it workers who arrive from India - contractors from Hyderabad from a company similar to 'Tata Consultancy Services' - to help the local American staff mitigate the issues arising from the 'Y2K' glitch.
