Publisher's Synopsis
This short book compares two ancient traditions of knowledge: The Indo-European Vedic texts preserved in India-revived today as Maharishi Vedic(R) Science-and the Edda poems of the Northern, Central, and Eastern European people. There appears to be many close parallels between these two traditions. In this book, we will-in the light of modern science-focus on three important parallels:
- A basic unified state underlying the vast variety in the universe - mental and physical. This foundation reflects the unified field that modern physics projects as the common source of everything in physical creation.
- The development of higher states of individual consciousness, leading to a life in fulfillment and permanent inner happiness.
- The development of higher states in the collective consciousness of society, resulting in an ideal, problem-free society.
Today this knowledge has extensive practical implications for improving performance and quality of life, as shown by scientific research on the Transcendental Meditation(R) technique and the advanced TM-Sidhi(R) program from Maharishi Vedic Science.
