Publisher's Synopsis

Mulkeytown Christian Church is the oldest Christian Church in the State of Illinois. The church began in 1818 under the leadership of John Mulkey who came from Kentucky. Church services were held in the home of John Kirkpartick who lived near the Shawnee-Kaskaskia-St. Louis Trail. Members of the congregation took turns hosting the meetings in their homes, until about 1823, when their meetings were moved to a two-room log structure on Four Mile Prairie. Later, moved the location to town. Many families have since passed through the doors of Mulkeytown Christian Church, in Mulkeytown, Illinois. Among these families came many preachers, deacons, elders, and techers. We celebrate and praise God for the many Baptisms, Marriages, Births, Guest Speakers, Talents and Fellowship of members and their families. This book is a celebration of Love and Memories blended with a rich History.
