Publisher's Synopsis

A. W. Pink is notorious within the Arminian and Calvinistic traditions for his intolerance of Arminianism. In fact, he hated Arminianism so much that he refused to go to church anywhere! This makes Pink appear to be very bold and uncompromising, but there's one little problem: Pink's writings reveal that he believed all Arminians are saved people. Thus, his refusal to assemble with them was nothing but pride. The Bible says that to treat one's brothers as Pink did is indicative of lostness. He was a proud, religious hermit whose isolation was not like that of Elijah's, for Elijah yearned for brothers. Pink's pride is attractive to today's masculine, macho, self-righteous Calvinists. But Pink's judgment of Arminians actually epitomizes spiritual effeminacy. He penned many types of heresies, which the Calvinists are blind to, because of his intoxicating poetic prose. Even when Pink was saturated in doctrinal atmospheres which suited his taste, he would still refuse to associate with others. Men like Pink are the sad results of self-righteous seeking after perfection. Such men have no rest in the imputed perfection of Christ. Like Arthur Rimbaud, Pink's religion was not objective. It was purely subjective, and it aided his emotional life, and his personal problems. It had nothing to do with Christ.
