There were a lot of different prehistoric animals that existed long before humans existed. They lived millions of years ago and spanned many continents. They were much larger and stronger than we are today, and their species had a wide range of physical characteristics. Many of them had thick armor and scaly bodies. Some even had large, ducklike bills that were filled with teeth. Some of them had two rows of bony plates on their backs. One of these creatures even had long bony spikes on its tail! These creatures swung their tails to avoid danger and could deliver devastating blows.
