Publisher's Synopsis
Are Optometrists boring? - we meet this one while he's making a disaster of an internet date. After recovering the situation he proceeds to cause chaos on his second chance, this time in a posh restaurant.
Mark's fighting the rear-guard on all fronts. An old girlfriend is spearheading attacks from the NHS, and because he lives in a holiday caravan the bank's computer thinks he's homeless.
Back on the romance front he's once more managed to turn things around - only to make the crushing discovery that he's being cheated on again.
Watching him 'doing his stuff' with patients it's quickly apparent that he attracts a quirky bunch. Strangely, it isn't always their eyes they want his help with...
Sometimes inept but always best-intentioned, Mark struggles through his escalating predicaments until victory falls tantalisingly within his grasp - when suddenly a new threat arises, the worst yet.
For the powers that be have summoned him - his competence is in question, and with it his livelihood.
How will he get out of this one?
Undeterred, the brave lad is puffing imaginary smoke from the bulb-end of a clinical penlight -
It's Gunfight at the Eyes Up corral.
(Did someone say that Optometrists are boring...?)
