L. Nichols's presence as an artist is ever expanding. His work has been in several group shows, including the Crest Hardware Art Show, Upstate Artists Guild's POW, the Smithy-Pioneer Gallery, Lucky Gallery, Medialia Rack and Hamper Gallery, Sustainable NYC, the Mariposa Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a month long solo viewing at Everything Goes. He is the recipient of the Laya and Jerome B. Wiesner Award for achievement in the creative and performing arts. His illustrations and comics have appeared in the Village Voice, Gilt Taste, the Atlantic, BEA Rock Fest, Verve Magazine, the Zinester's Guide to NYC, Smoke Signal, SMITH Magazine, the Nib, and the anthologies QU33R (Northwest Press) and Warmer: A Collection of Comics about Climate Change for the Fearful & Hopeful. Nichols is the co-publisher (as Grindstone Comics) of the award-winning comics quarterly, Ley Lines, with Czap Books. He is also the product designer and artist of the famed restaurant murals for La Esquina. Flocks, Nichols's debut graphic novel, was serialized by Retrofit Comics in a sold out run of thousands. Nichols will tour North America with Flocks, including a special presentation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Council for the Arts.
