Publisher's Synopsis

From 2002 to 2017, Fr. J. Ronald Knott authored a weekly column in his local diocesan paper, The Record, titled, An Encouraging Word. His purpose was to affirm and encourage his catholic readers in living their faith in their day-to-day lives by offering spiritual direction and insight on a wide range of spiritual topics like hope, forgiveness, faith, courage, thankfulness, holiness, prayer and the Eucharist. Each 500 word article dealt with a single topic which made them ideal for personal reflection and inspiration. The articles were infused with personal stories, both profound and sometimes amusing, which made them relatable and enjoyable to read. Father Knott's column became quite popular and people looked forward to reading it each week. Dare I say, it was one of the main reasons many readers opened the paper. At the end of each year he published a printed edition of those articles. Now, to make the over 720 articles contained in those 15 books more accessible (and less expensive), we are publishing them in three anthology volumes.
