Publisher's Synopsis
This community history of Panguitch (pronounced PAN-gu-itch), Utah, celebrates the town's 150th anniversary of settlement, held in March of 2014. It talks about religious and economic factors that have pushed the town forward through the years and looks at several individuals whose influence has shaped the community. This work looks at Panguitch's development as an agricultural community and the subsequent loss of that identity, and how the community has worked to re-create a new identity for itself through the various summer festivals now being held. Panguitch, Utah received the National Historic District designation in 2007. This work looks at some of the contributing factors as to why this designation was awarded.
