Publisher's Synopsis
In this series of books the authors have transcribed all of the articles they have found in the Alcona County Review (Harrisville, Michigan) covering births, marriages, divorces, bigamies, and deaths. In almost all cases the transcriptions include every word in the articles. Articles leading up to an event (such as marriage application and bridal party) as well as the event itself (description of the wedding) are included when found. The Review began publication in April 1877, and this volume contains the articles found in the issues from January 1920 through December 1929. Also included are several articles from the Alcona County Herald for this period. Many articles were missing information that would be of interest to the genealogist or local historian, such as the name of a newborn child, a mother's maiden name, or the cemetery in which an individual was interred. The authors have attempted to locate that information and have included it outside the text box containing the transcription of the article. Also included is an index of all of the principals in the articles, including as many maiden names as the authors could find.
