The author, Cameron Lawes, grew up in New Zealand but now lives in London. While growing up he spent a lot of time having amazing adventures in the great outdoors of 'Godzone'. Since moving to the Northern Hemisphere he has continued those adventures, climbing in Scotland, Wales and the Alps and running city marathons and ultramarathons around the world. He specialises in desert ultramarathons and has run 1000km across deserts in 4 countries. The Hot Desert reflects lessons Cameron has learnt in his adventures. He has set up the Multi Sport Adventure Racing CHallenge www.MARCHadventureracing.com to support adventure racing and encourage people to enjoy the beauty on their doorsteps. He hopes the adventures of MARCHman and his friends encourage young folk to get out there, and get stuck in!
