Publisher's Synopsis
A collection of archaeological essays on the archaeology and heritage in the Eastbourne area. Many of the projects described have been undertaken with interested local volunteers. Included is evidence from the Neolithic to the Romans on the Beachy Head downs, to Bronze Age burial mound at Crowlink, and snippets of post-medieval archaeology in Old Town and mills of the area. Evidence is outlined of the changing and diverse landscape and of prehistoric farming, fields and settlement in Old Town.
