"Some of these poems were written after the diagnosis, and while I waited at home for surgery and attended hospital for pre-assessment procedures. Others were written after my surgery and during my initial recovery at home. They ride the waves of negativity and positivity. I wanted them to be accessible, not too poetic, as I wanted them to hopefully go beyond poetry readers and, again hopefully, connect with those on the same journey. Indeed, those experiencing the bad and good weathers of their emotions because of the disease, but possibly unable to articulate them into communicating words"--.
