Publisher's Synopsis
The Traditional Music and Song Association through the "Nineties Collection" competition in 1991, collected some 400 tunes from composers, old and young. As the excitement and enthusiasm for the project moved into a higher gear, Ian Hardie, a fiddler and composer, was commissioned to edit the collection, combining the best of the competition entries with additional contributions from established composers.;This musical collection represents the spread of new composition throughout the traditional music spectrum. Covering Scottish traditional instrumental music, it illustrates the range, quality and the spirit of revitalized enthusiasm for Scottish traditional music in the last decade of the 20th century.
