When gold-miner Slim Jacobs rides into town dying of a gunshot wound, Marysville marshal Ben Carter vows to find his killer. But rumors begin to spread that Frank and Jesse James are headed for the small California town, and Carter worries that he may have more than one homicidal quick-draw to contend with.
Turk Tremaine's arrival in town raises Carter's suspicions. Claiming to be Jacobs' mining partner, the quiet gunslinger is hungry for revenge. But more miners are attacked, and Carter must enlist Turk's help to overthrow the invisible menace hiding in the hills. Joined in the fight by two strange travelers, the men uncover a plot to destroy Marysville. Can they stop the murdering thieves before their peaceful town is torn apart?
