Publisher's Synopsis
The 16 papers in this special issue focus on research resulting from the FEMA-sponsored research program focusing on the behavior of steel moment frames in the 1994 Northridge earthquake, and the observed widespread connection fractures in welded moment frame connections. The purpose of this collection is to put research into practice by answering fundamental questions about the reliability of steel moment frame construction in order to develop effective and economical design procedures and construction standards. These papers explore reliable and cost-effective methods for the inspection, evaluation, repair, rehabilitation, design, and construction of steel moment frame structures.
