Children are often fascinated by the concept of Earth's nearest planetary neighbours, and this series of books takes a scientific look at each planet in turn. This particular book looks at the group of planets described as "the outer planets" which include Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Each planet is described relative to the sun and the other planets which surround it, and discoveries that have been made about each planet are described. Also included are theories about the planet's physical composition and characteristics. Each title of the series "Exploring the Planets" includes illustrations of the surface panorama, diagrams and photographs of space probes and their associated rocketry.
