Many years ago a young woman named Olga travelled all the way from the Russian Volga to settle in the Australian Mulga. Everyone in The Mulga loves Olga - especially young Katie and Jack who come to stay with her for the holidays. Every year when the children arrive at The Mulga they know they will be in for a big adventure with Olga.
On their first evening in town Katie and Jack sadly notice the famous Majestic cinema in The Mulga is about to close down. Katie and Jack love going to the cinema so (with a little help from Olga) the children decide to make their own movie about Olga's fascinating life. The children feel sure that everyone will love their movie and the people of The Mulga will remember how much they love going to the movies and the Majestic cinema will stay open forever. Well, everyone in The Mulga did love Katie and Jack's movie and the Majestic cinema was saved.
