Publisher's Synopsis
There has been increasing interest in recent years in the design and construction of post-tensioned concrete bridges with external unbonded tendons. To assist in the design of these structures, the Highways Agency issued a Standard and Design Note that included recommendations for additional research. To provide further information for designers, a continuous two-span bridge, 80m in length, was constructed at TRL. This report describes how the model was built, and its structural behaviour as it was tested to destruction.
