Publisher's Synopsis

Normally, we are so preoccupied with the events in our life that we leave little space to explore our inner world. We try to solve problems with our rational mind and only once in a while stumble upon a clarity that seems to come from a level of understanding different from and beyond our normal thinking. In traditional Zen, a disciple is given a Koan, a riddle that cannot be solved by the rational mind. 'What is the sound of one hand clapping?' After many attempts, the disciple experiences the answer as a clear reflection of the truth: and with it comes a realisation that all answers come from within oneself. As the mystic Osho says: "The highest intelligence is the creative response to now." Inside this box you will find 48 Koans for you to practise with, to try and reveal your inner world. The corresponding illustrated cards will sometimes give you a hint, and sometimes, temporarily, confuse you more on your search for the truth that lies within. With the cards is included a book with all the Koans and their explanations, and additional stories and background to the world of Zen. Now pick a card, and begin the journey into your inner world!
