Publisher's Synopsis

The Double Helix mystery comes full circle. The year is 2350. On the Thallonian homeworld, a nobleman named Gerrid Thul pays a visit to the Emperor. His suit for the hand of the Emperor's sister is declined on the grounds that the royal family must not be tainted with inferior blood. Enraged, Thul enlists the help of his son Abbis to unleash a wave of terror that will danage a fragile peace and attract the attention of Starfleet in the person of USS Stargazer's Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
While Picard attempts to renegotiate the peace, the Stargazer's Lt-Commander Jack Crusher and Ensign Tuvok set out to track down an assassin and soon find their own lives in danger. Questioned by Abbis and his empathic henchman, Tuvok admits that they are Starfleet officers and reveals the details of their mission. Will his gambit have the desired result, or has it put Picard, the Stargazer and their mission in deadly jeopardy?
