A single volume, if it contains several treatises, is split up, and a separate entry and number given to each treatise, so that the number of entries is swelled much beyond the number of volumes. The nineteen entries of Mathematical books, for example, are comprised in three manuscripts. Thirty-seven volumes described by me have sixty entries in the old catalogue.
