The author was active in Teacher Training workshops, Christian Education and Interpersonal Relationship seminars in this country and abroad presenting more than 1100. He has traveled, spoken, used as a consultant, or conducted seminars in 68 denominations and countless independent churches in all 50 of the United States, with the exception of Nebraska and North Dakota. Likewise in all the provinces of Canada, but five, and to 39 other foreign countries. And most places were visited numerous times. One foreign country was traveled to 19 times.During his travels h kept a journal or notes of interesting places with the impression or inspiration that locale brought to him. He spent time researching where he would be visiting adding to his knowledge of the place to increase his interest in it. In the beginning he wrote for his own edification, and publishing was not considered until the demand by friends and others.The book contains but a few of the many places visited. Over the years many articles have been published that are not in the genre of this book. These have been published since 2004 as a weekly column called "Here and There" in a regional newspaper in Missouri formally owned by the famous Pulitzer family of St. Louis.
