Publisher's Synopsis
Set in the early 17th century, the story's central character is Jaki Gefjon, son of a Dutch sailor and a Borneo tribeswoman. He begins a violent career as a pirate on the high seas of Asia, until his destiny beckons him to the far-off New World.
