Publisher's Synopsis
Raven thought Roman was the ideal boyfriend taking her on a romantic vacation.
Eden Grace thought Hector was looking for a nanny.
The two teenagers couldn't have been more different, but when they find themselves caught in the devil's trap, they become sisters-in-misfortune and must trust each other if they are ever going to gain their freedom.
Roman has plans of building an empire of trafficked girls, but his partner Hector begins to doubt the plan. Will Hector's conscience bring about their downfall? Or will Roman be forced to act with violence?
Set in Birmingham, Alabama, a city that joins Atlanta and Nashville to form the human trafficking triangle in the South, TREE OF GOOD AND EVIL is an emotional story of innocence lost and courage found. It is a story of selfish dreams and plans that change the course of a man's life. It is a story of trust and redemption.
It is ultimately a story of hope.
Ask the Author:What prompted you to write about such a dark subject?
When I learned that human trafficking was happening here in the United States, I couldn't believe it. And at the time, I was a stay-at-home mom to little kids so what could I do? Eventually, I realized I didn't have to hit the streets and save the girls that way. Instead, I could write a story and share with others that this is happening in our big cities and in our small towns. The first step is awareness and so TREE OF GOOD & EVIL was born. I'm especially excited that the film by Angel Studios SOUND OF FREEDOM has recently been released to help further bring awareness to this devastating crime.
