The chairman. Gentlemen, in accordance with the order of last Wednesday the committee has met this morning to begin our re lar hearings upon the a propriation bill, and I have invited Prof. Illis L. Moore, Chief o the Weather Bureau, to appear before us. I would suggest to Professor Moore that in the first Instance he give us a sort of general review of the work of his Bureau, and that he should then call attention to any particular features of the work of the past year which he desires to mention.
