Duran Duran, are a new wave and synthpop band, formed by John Taylor and Nick Rhodes during 1978, in Birmingham, UK, having developed from alternative sensations in 1982, into mainstream pop stars by 1984. Music style fashions challenged the band during the late '80s, with its membership changing, before a resurgence during the early 1990s. The group were one of the leaders of the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" of the US, having had 14 hits entering the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart, with 21 in the Billboard Hot 100, selling over 100 million records worldwide.
