At the Heyside branch of Slim-Plicity, the women are struggling with their wastebands while waiting for the spare flesh to melt away. English student Sandra finds her allegiances are torn. She wants to be slim, but she doesn't want to be oppressed. Neither do her friends Helen and Stella.
