A phonics programme for 4-7 year olds which uses proven and enjoyable methods to provide children with the phonics skills they need when learning to read. This evaluation pack contains all the rhyme, alphabet and teacher's guides in the programme. The large format rhythm and rhyme books are designed for interactive whole class or group teaching. They feature illustrated ryhmes accompanied by full teaching notes which: teach the words of the rhyme; develop children's sense of rhythm and rhyme; help children sort words according to end sounds; and begin to make the links between sound and text. The alliteration books introduce children to initial sounds (onsets) through a collection of illustrated alliterative jingles. The alphabet books introduce children to the names and shapes of letters of the alphabet, and the ABC books show each letter in the context of a word and on its own, together with an i-spy page for each letter and an alliterative jingle.
