A third period of significance is associated with Mission 66 development at the park from 1963 - 1966. At this time the Visitor Center, Outer Banks Group Support Office (formerly the Cape Hatteras Group Headquarters), the plaza and walk complex adjacent these builidngs, the Lost Colony Activities Building, the four staff residence on Pear Pad Road, and the restroom building and generator rooms near the Outer Banks Group Support Office were constructed.
