Jo tells a story of two inseparable childhood sweethearts, Jennifer and Dylan. On Dylan's eighteenth birthday, Jennifer takes a shortcut through a graveyard and sees a figure burning within a bonfire. Before she can help, the mirage fades and disappears. The next day, on the way to school, a mystery girl, Melody, steps out of nowhere. Soon Melody has enchanted Dylan - everyone except Jennifer falls under her spell. Melody mentions a curse on Dylan's family, and when Jennifer investigates, she discovers that all the firstborn men on his mother's side - the Johnsons - have died aged 18. Melody is the incarnation of a young girl, Margaret, who was burnt as a witch in the 17th Century, after being caught in a barn with preacher's son, Jeffrey Johnson. When he denounced her unfairly, she died cursing the whole line. Now Melody is here to exact her revenge on Dylan. Only Jennifer can break the spell. But will she walk through fire to save him?
