Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Studies in European Literature: Being the Taylorian Lectures, Second Series, 1920-1930
The practice of the Curators has been to appoint one Lecturer annually. Provision was made for publication, and the present volume contains all the lectures delivered on the foundation since 1920.
The Curators hope that the publication of these lectures will contribute to the study of foreign letters beyond as well as in the University, and they wish to express their gratitude to the distinguished scholars who, by accepting the post of Lecturer, have enabled them to carry out the intentions of the founders.
