The blessing here implored is the presence and power of God; and that to be displayed in a house de voted to his worship. Let us inquire into the nature and the value of this blessing. And while we Speak of it, may the great Master of assemblies cause us to experience its blessed reality, to the glory of his holy name!
I. The first question which arises is, what is the na ture of the blessing here implored? What are we to understand by that presence and power Of God, in a house devoted to his worship, which, under the gospel dispensation, we may properly ask and hope to receive?
