Nous lisons dans son m�moire (p. 157) En attendant qu'on d�sign�t l'�crivain charg� de la r�daction d�finitive, l'ancien secr�taire de Richelieu, Charpentier, se mettait � l'ouvrage et pr�parait, par un nouveau classement et d�grossissement des pi�ces, une suite de textes, une �bauche, qu'un meilleur ouvrier reprendrait ensuite pour la mettre en forme.
Le lecteur cherchera en vain la moindre note qui puisse servir de preuve � ces lignes.
